Kullu Valley Senior Secondary School was established in the year 1991 with a unique vision of being a centre of quality education. It has grown from strength to strength in every aspect and in achieving a goal for optimal human resources development.

Faculty

KVS enjoys the reputation of having recruited experienced, highly qualified and dedicated teachers on its faculty. They are not only specialists in their concerned subjects but also strict disciplinarians.

Co-curricular activities

Apart from aiming at the acquisition of educational competencies, the school strives hard to unfold the innate potentialities of the students. In this regard, the students are provided with platform to participate in cultural programmes, debates, quizzes dramas and other allied activities.

Kullu Valley Senior Secondary School has provided innoviative and leading edge education to its students. It has a student body of 1500 studying in primary, middle higher secondary and senior secondary.

KVS holds classes from pre-nursery to tenth under ICSE curriculum and eleventh & twelfth under HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala. A comprehensive range of subjects is offered including subject like computers, art & craft and SUPW to enhance the creative skills of students.

The children join the KVS family in Pre-Nursery or Nursery, they are introduced to the wonderful world of knowledge and creativity. Studies are presented to them in an interesting manner so that it becomes something that they desire for. No burden is put on their dedicate shoulders and made to learn while playing.

Keeping the child as the focal point, subjects like art & craft, computer and SUPW are incorporated so as to make each child realize his/her individual potential. This encourages the spirit of caring and sharing. Apart from excelling in academic, this prepares them to face the realities of life after they leave the safe borders of the school.

To imbibe qualities of leadership in the students, a head boy and a head girl are nominated by the Principal in consultation with the teachers, They are supported by two democratically elected captains and two vice captains from the two houses – Royal  House & Golden House.

A qualified and experienced teaching staff of 70 works hard to provide the students all the resources and instruction necessary to make them successful. They take real pleasure in teaching the children and revealing their intrinsic persona. The teachers bestow personal attention and love on the students, which enable them to interact in a straightforward manner with the teachers.

The school takes care that parents are kept informed about their child's activities. Therefore, thrice a year, parents-teacher meets are conducted. Parents are free to talk to the teachers and Principal in case of any doubts and queries.

After the exams, students enjoy fifteen days of summer vacation and winter vacations of two months. No homework is given to the students during these vacations so that they can get a break and rejuvenate themselves.

Deprived and underprivileged students from weaker economic background of the society are offered fee concession and in certain cases are even given free education. At present 20 students are given various kinds of concession in fee and 40 students are studying absolutely free of cost.
