Our world
today is one of paradoxes. At one end we are aspiring
for better global, economic and social order, at the
other there is total value deterioration because of our
excessive engrossment with materialistic achievement. On
one hand we tend to believe that children are motivated
best to excel through competition, on the other, the
other, the same competition results in unhealthy trends
making way for a negative environment.
In such
turbulent times, we as educators have to play a far
meaningful role. We need to teach our pupils the three
'C's – confidence, compassion and commitment. We should
endeavor to provide them with an environment, which
respect them as individuals, which communicates
understanding of their needs and which surrounds them
with a worm and nurturing love, provides them with the
best chance of successing academically and developing
into-caring and sensitive human beings.
I firmly
believe that imparting good education, including
imbibing the right values in the children is a great
service to the nation. After all, they are the citizens
and leaders of tomorrow. We need to continuously work
hard with untiring zeal to achieve even greater glory.
